Slow running 5-10 minutes each day helps to live longer

A new study from Iowa State University (USA) shows, run at slow speed only 5-10 minutes a day can significantly reduce the risk of death.

In this study, the researchers analyzed the data of people aged of 55 137 from 18-100, they are monitored for a period of 15 years average.

During follow-up, 3,413 participants died of many causes, in 1217 died of cardiovascular causes. Of these, 24% have run weekly fitness.

The team found participants engaged in physical activity per week had 30% less likely to die from all causes and 45% less likely to die from cardiovascular causes, than those who do not participate in physical activity. Overall, the runners may live longer than those who do not run up to 3 years.

But the most interesting, the researchers discovered that those who run less than 1 hour/week and those who run more than 3 hours/week have a lower risk of death alike. Even those who only run from 5-10 minutes/day at a slow speed also reduces the risk of death than non-running appearance.
